Coroner: Summerville Man Killed in Accident on Hwy. 17A

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A Summerville man has died from injuries sustained in a wreck in Berkeley County, according to Coroner Bill Salisbury.

The accident occurred early Thursday at 5:22 a.m. when the victim’s vehicle was struck at the intersection of Black Tom Road and Highway 17-A.

He has been identified as 21-year-old Dylan Jacob Thomas.

Thomas was pronounced dead on the scene, Salisbury stated.

The driver of the 2nd vehicle was transported to a local hospital.  The accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina High Patrol.

The death has been ruled accidental by Coroner Salisbury.
