Ambulance Medic Fatally Struck by Car in Berkeley County Identified

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–One person has died after being fatally struck by a car on Sheep Island Road early Thursday morning.

According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, the accident happened after a medic with a private ambulance service got out of his vehicle to verify a street address.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The name will be released after the victim’s next of kin is notified, stated Salisbury.

UPDATE: The medic killed in the accident is 36-year-old Christopher M. Gore of Moncks Corner.
