Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Semi on Black Tom Road ID’d: Berkeley County Coroner

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed Monday night on Black Tom Road. He is Eugene Kelly Jr., 44, of Summerville.

Coroner Darnell Hartwell said Kelly was attempting to cross Black Tom Road when he was struck by a tractor trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office, Central Berkeley Fire & Rescue, and Berkeley County EMS responded to the incident.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
