MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving three vehicles, including a Moncks Corner police officer.

According to Trooper Nick Pye, the collision happened at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 52 and Gaillard Road.

Pye said a 2017 Jeep utility vehicle and a 2020 Ford utility vehicle (registered to the town of Moncks Corner) were both traveling east on U.S. Highway 52 when they both collided with a 2018 Mazda utility vehicle that was stopped facing west on the same road.

MCPD Chief Steve Young told ABC News 4 that the officer, who was driving the 2020 Ford, was responding to a call when the crash occurred.

No other details were provided, and it’s not clear if there were any injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
