BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office released enforcement statistics Wednesday following enhanced marine patrol operations over the Memorial Day weekend. The initiative, which ran from Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25, focused on promoting water safety and ensuring compliance with boating laws across the county’s busiest waterways and boat landings.
Deputies with the marine patrol unit patrolled Lake Moultrie, the Cooper River, the Santee River, and other high-traffic areas. In addition to water patrols, deputies maintained a strong presence at public boat landings, conducting safety checks, monitoring for impaired operation, and managing boat launch and parking activity.
