BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A new flight plan is set for the Berkeley County Airport.
Starting July 1, the Charleston Regional Aviation Authority will manage and operate the Berkeley County Airport, following an agreement approved by Berkeley County Council on May 27. The move marks a major shift in the management of the 236-acre facility located at 616 Whitesville Road in Moncks Corner.
Under the newly approved lease agreement, the county will retain ownership of the airport property while handing over day-to-day operations to the Aviation Authority—best known for overseeing Charleston International Airport and other regional airfields.
As part of the transition, current Berkeley County Airport employees will join the Charleston Regional Aviation Authority team.
