Oh Deer! Goose Creek Cop Rescues Fawn From Storm Drain

A baby deer found itself in a "doe" of trouble Wednesday after slipping into a storm drain in the Carnes neighborhood of Goose Creek — but luckily, help was just a 911 call away.

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Talk about a wild rescue!

A baby deer found itself in a doe of trouble Wednesday after slipping into a storm drain in the Carnes neighborhood of Goose Creek — but luckily, help was just a 911 call away.

Goose Creek police say a concerned resident reported strange animal noises coming from the drain.

That’s when Officer Cloninger showed up, climbed into the storm drain like a total champ, and rescued the stranded fawn.

The fawn was unharmed and, after its underground adventure, was handed off to All Thing Acre Petting Zoo for some TLC and a much cozier home.
