The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 and will cost approximately $7.5 million. According to city spokesperson Frank Johnson, the City of Goose Creek is prepared to fund the project directly but may issue a bond depending on interest rates later this year.

“This station has been in the works for several years and is critically needed to serve Carnes Crossroads,” Johnson said, calling the area the fastest growing part of the city.

The new station will enhance fire and EMS coverage in northern Goose Creek, where rapid residential and commercial growth has placed increasing demands on public safety services.

Former State Rep. Joe Daning played a key role in securing state funding for the project before leaving office. City officials credit his support as instrumental in moving the project forward.

Once complete, the station is expected to significantly reduce emergency response times for thousands of residents in the Carnes Crossroads area.
