Moncks Corner Player Wins $50K in Record Powerball Drawing

The $50,000 ticket was purchased at the Parkers #81 on Foxbank Plantation Boulevard, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A lucky ticket sold in Moncks Corner is one of four big South Carolina winners in Saturday’s historic $1.78 billion Powerball® drawing.

The $50,000 ticket was purchased at the Parkers #81 on Foxbank Plantation Boulevard, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery. It was one of three $50,000 winners sold statewide, with the others sold in Greer and Surfside Beach.

In addition, a $100,000 ticket with PowerPlay® was sold at Cheapway #16 on Shop Road in Columbia.

The jackpot itself will be split by two players in Missouri and Texas, each taking home a share of the $1.78 billion prize, which carried a cash option of $820.6 million.

The winning numbers from Saturday’s drawing were 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62, with the Powerball number 17. The PowerPlay multiplier was 2.

The Moncks Corner winner matched four white ball numbers plus the red Powerball. The odds of hitting that combination are 1 in 913,129.

Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize. Prize-claiming information is available at sceducationlottery.com.

Meanwhile, Monday night’s Powerball jackpot resets to an estimated $20 million.
