MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Berkeley County will hold its 2025 Delinquent Tax Sale later this month, offering both in-person and online bidding for those interested in purchasing properties with unpaid taxes.
The sale is set for Monday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Azalea Ballroom inside the Lowcountry Conference Center in Nexton (406 Sigma Drive, Summerville). According to the county, if additional time is needed, the sale will continue Tuesday, October 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once the land sale concludes, the mobile home sale will begin.
Registration Opens Oct. 9
Registration for both in-person and online participation opens Wednesday, October 9, and closes Friday, October 17, at 5 p.m. Interested bidders must register in advance — no same-day registration will be accepted, county officials said.

A list of real and personal property scheduled for sale will be published in the Charleston Post and Courier and made available on the Berkeley County website on October 9. The listings will include both the current property owner and the defaulting taxpayer, as required by South Carolina law.

A separate mobile home listing will be posted online for two consecutive weeks beginning October 16.
Payment Deadline: Oct. 24
County officials are reminding taxpayers that all delinquent taxes, penalties, and fees must be paid by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 24, to avoid the sale. Payments can be made in several ways:
- In person at the Berkeley County Delinquent Tax Office (1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner)
- Online at taxes.berkeleycountysc.gov
- By mail, postmarked by October 24, to P.O. Box 6122, Moncks Corner, SC 29461
- FedEx/overnight deliveries should be sent to 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner
Accepted payment methods include cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, attorney trust/escrow checks, and credit or debit cards (which carry a 20-cent plus 2.35% processing fee). No payments will be accepted on the day of the sale.
