BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – One Lowcountry manโ€™s โ€œtrickโ€ didnโ€™t fool Berkeley County deputies this Halloween season.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriffโ€™s Office, 50-year-old Jason Wyndham of Ladson was recently pulled over during what began as a routine traffic stop, but things quickly got spooky when deputies spotted something suspicious tucked where it definitely didnโ€™t belong.

Authorities said Wyndham had a crystal-like package hidden in his pants, which turned out to be about 59 grams of methamphetamine โ€” not exactly Halloween candy.

A K9 unit helped sniff out the stash, and Wyndham was promptly given a one-way trip to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, the sheriffโ€™s office joked in a social media post.

Wyndham is now facing drug charges and being held on a $10,000 surety bond, deputies said.

The sheriffโ€™s office added a tongue-in-cheek warning for would-be offenders this October: โ€œDonโ€™t let meth monsters sneak up on youโ€ฆ and definitely donโ€™t hide things in your pants.โ€
