BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County officials are taking steps to prepare for potential winter weather expected this weekend, as forecasts call for colder temperatures and the possibility of wintry conditions across the region.

County Emergency Management leaders say coordination is underway among road crews, public safety agencies, and state partners to help reduce impacts and keep residents informed. Crews with Berkeley County Roads and Bridges are scheduled to begin pretreating county-maintained roads, bridges, and facilities on Friday by applying brine, with treatment continuing through the weekend as conditions allow.
