FedEx Worker Accused of Lottery Fraud at Summerville Gas Station

A FedEx worker has been charged with lottery fraud, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed Thursday.

According to an arrest warrant, on Jan. 8, Scott attempted to cash in a scratch-off lottery ticket at Parker’s Kitchen at 3900 Ladson Rd. in Summerville.

Investigators said Scott was employed at a FedEx shipping center in North Charleston when he took the ticket from a damaged package the same day while working the sort line.

Scott was booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center on Jan. 29. The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

This is the second arrest of lottery fraud in the Lowcountry in about two weeks.

On Jan. 14, SLED investigators charged Denise Antionette Maxwell, 35, of Goose Creek after they said she stole scratch-off tickets from several convenience stores and attempted to cash them in Charleston and Dorchester Counties.
