BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – If you’ve been missing your morning biscuits and burgers, relief may soon be on the way.
The two Hardee’s locations in Goose Creek and Moncks Corner are expected to reopen within the next few weeks, according to a source familiar with the situation.
“They are expected to reopen as corporate-owned locations,” the source told The Berkeley Observer. “They are expected to reopen before the end of the month, but an exact date is still to be confirmed.”
Both restaurants — the only Hardee’s locations in Berkeley County — shut down on Dec. 20, 2025, leaving many customers and employees caught off guard.

Now, signs of a return are already visible. The company’s website shows both locations are hiring for management, crew member and shift leader positions as they prepare to resume operations.
The closures were tied to issues involving ARC Burger, the franchise group that previously operated the two restaurants. A spokesperson for Hardee’s said the shutdowns were not related to poor sales but instead stemmed from the franchisee’s failure to resolve problems within its franchise agreements.

“We understand the impact of these closures on restaurant employees and local communities, and we are working hard to find a path forward to reopen the closed locations,” the company said in a statement, adding that it remains focused on long-term stability and growth.

The situation in Berkeley County was part of a broader pattern. ARC Burger operates Hardee’s restaurants in several states, including Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, Wyoming, Montana, Illinois and Georgia. Multiple locations in those markets also faced similar shutdowns tied to the same franchise dispute.
With hiring now underway and plans in motion, the return of both Berkeley County restaurants could come sooner rather than later.
