BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Cross, Goose Creek and Timberland High Schools are on U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best High Schools list. The three schools were awarded bronze medals based on students’ performance on state assessments and how well each school prepares students for college.
Excited about the announcement, Principal Adrian Busch of Cross High School said, “It’s a tremendous accolade, and I’m ecstatic for my students, faculty and our community at large. They all work tirelessly to support Cross High School. To see everyone’s intense labor bear fruit is truly fulfilling.”
Principal Jimmy Huskey of Goose Creek High School said, “We are excited to be listed on the report! We feel we have a well-rounded school where students can be successful in rigorous AP courses, college-level classes and still other course offerings that prepare them for the workforce and provide job placement opportunities.”
Proud of the progress being made at his school and how students are excelling, Principal Kerry Daugherty of Timberland High said, “Timberland High is honored to receive this recognition. In the words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, ‘The test of progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.’ This is what we strive for and I am very happy that those efforts have been recognized.”
The U.S. News rankings include data from more than 21,000 public high schools in the United States.
