GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Veteran golfer Bobby Donnellan has joined Goose Creek’s Crowfield Golf Club as its new head pro. He brings 24 years of experience as both player and instructor to the job.

“I am excited about becoming part of the Crowfield Golf Club team, and look forward to using my experience to provide an exceptional tournament and golf experience for the members and their guests,” Donnellan said.

Crowfield Golf Club Director Troy Sanders said Donnellan’s arrival as head golf professional comes at an exciting time. “With the renovations and all of the improvements we’re doing to the course, it is perfect timing to bring someone in with Bobby’s experience,” Sanders said. “He is someone who can take us to the next level.”

Crowfield is in the final stages of an 18-hole renovation – nine holes at a time – that began in May. While play is continuing throughout the summer, a grand reopening for the popular, daily fee course is set for September.

Donnellan brings over two decades of professional experience to Goose Creek. He turned pro in 1991 after playing collegiately at Cameron University and Kansas State University, where he graduated in 1991. He joined the PGA in 1996.

He began his career as a golf professional at the Landings Club in Savannah from 1991 to 2000. He then moved to the Ocean Forest Golf Club of Sea Island, GA where he was involved with the 2001 USGA Walker Cup.

Donnellan relocated to the Lowcountry in 2004 when he was named the Director of Golf at the Daniel Island Club before moving to Legend Oaks Golf Club in Summerville as the Director of Golf and Tennis in 2015.

His professional playing career includes many Georgia PGA Section tournaments. Highlights include a fifth place finish at the Griffin Classic and a top-25 finish in the Georgia Open. Donnellan was named Player of the Year in 1999 for the East Chapter of the Georgia PGA.

Donnellan began teaching under the direction of Sandy Lemon, one of the top instructors in Georgia. He has attended teaching seminars with Jack Lumpkin and Hank Haney, and has spent time with instructors at Sea Island Golf Club learning different ways to teach.
