Coroner: Remains of Mother of Three Found in Cainhoy

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Almost two years after she disappeared, aย skull found on Nov. 27, 2015 has been identified as Nicole Goodlett of Spartanburg, S.C.

Goodlett, 28, was reported missing on March 12, 2014ย in Spartanburg County. According to an incident report she was last seen in Simpsonville in Greenville County over the Christmas holiday by her brother.

Investigators have named Goodlettโ€™s boyfriend, Jerald Howard, a person of interest. Howard is originally from Huger. Deputies have beenย trying to track down his whereabouts.ย  The two were reportedly living together before she disappeared.

According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, her skull was examined by a forensic anthropologist and she was identified by DNA samples.

“With the information I have now, the manner and cause of death will be classified as undetermined. No trauma was noted to the skull,” stated Salisbury.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Berkeley County Coronerโ€™s Office and the Spartanburg Sheriffโ€™s Office.

The Berkeley County Sheriffโ€™s Office is also assisting in the investigation.

Goodlett 3Crews will be in the area nearย Cainhoy Elementary School Wednesday searching for more evidence.
