BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The automotive buyer intelligence firm Autolist.com recently released its second quarter 2016 Most Affordable Areas Analysis and ranked Berkeley County the #22 most affordable place to buy a car in South Carolina.
The study, which drew on over 72 million vehicles and 4.5 billion unique data points across vehicles of all makes and models nationwide, showed that used vehicles in Berkeley County were on average $195 more than the South Carolina average.
Autolist.com’s study found that there were statistically significant differences in list prices at the state, county and even the city level across both South Carolina and the US at large.
Results showed that while dealer density predictably contributed significantly to price differentials, other factors did so as well, such as manufacturer community presence and geography demands.

- Kershaw County, $792 below the state average
- Lancaster County, $759 below the state average
- Allendale County, $678 below the state average
- Aiken County, $660 below the state average
Berkeley County had its own unique price differences as well. Autolist.com’s study showed that the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was the most affordable vehicle in Berkeley County, with prices $1,184 below the South Carolina average.
