Military Dad Surprises Kids with Epic Return Home

VIA BERKELEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT/FOXBANK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Two kids attending Foxbank Elementary School in Moncks Corner got quite the surprise from their military father this week.

Up until a few days ago, Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Felix Azunie with the U.S. Navy had been stationed in Africa for the past nine months.

He’s home now, but he didn’t tell his children right away. Instead, he opted to surprise them in the biggest way possible.

With the help of school staff at Foxbank Elementary, he dressed up as the school’s mascot, a cute Boykin Spaniel, and paraded down the halls of the school giving hugs and high fives to students.

Along with the hugs, the waving and high fives, Azunie entertained the students with his fancy foot work while dancing to “Who Let the Dogs Out.”

At the end of the school day, still dressed as the school’s lovable mascot, Azunie issued more hugs to students as they headed home.

As his kids were getting ready to leave school, Azunie approached them in costume and gave them a big hug before taking off the costume’s head piece.

Needless to say, the reaction on his kids’ faces was absolutely priceless. They were all smiles and obviously very happy to see their dad.

To see the happy reunion, make sure you check out the video above.
