Goose Creek Police Searching for 2 Suspects in 7-11 Armed Robbery

FILE

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–On Tuesday at 4:22 a.m., Goose Creek police officers responded to the 7-11 convenience store located at 200 St. James Avenue in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers say they spoke to the victim who advised that he was outside of the store smoking a cigarette when he was approached by three black males wearing dark clothing.

Police say the suspects grabbed the victim and forced him back into the store.  The suspects then held him at gunpoint and stole approximately $100 in cash from his register drawer and then demanded that he open a cigarette security cage, where they proceeded to steal numerous cartons of cigarettes.

The suspects then heard a vehicle pull up outside and fled the scene on foot towards Brandywine Apartments.

While responding to the scene of the incident, an officer witnessed a suspicious vehicle leaving Brandywine Apartments and attempted to catch up with the vehicle.

The vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed and was involved in a traffic collision on US Hwy 52 near the city limits with N. Charleston.  Two suspects fled the vehicle on foot, and two others were apprehended at the scene of the collision.

Police say they are currently attempting to obtain video footage of the armed robbery from store management.

If you have any information about this incident or the identity of the two suspects that fled from the vehicle collision, please contact Investigator Tremblay with the Goose Creek Police Department at 843-863-5200 ext. 2463, or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
