CROSS, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver killed in an early morning crash in Cross over the weekend.
According to Coroner Darnell Hartwell, his office was contacted Sunday, May 14, 2023, at 1:07 a.m. by a local hospital in reference to traffic fatality victim that was brought into the ER from a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 6 in Cross.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital from injuries that was sustained in the accident, the coroner said.
The victim was positively identified as Charles Howard, 33, from Cross.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
