Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck On Christmas ID’d: Berkeley County Coroner

According to the Berkeley County School District, administrators and the school resource officer at Sangaree Middle School received information Wednesday that a student had a gun on campus.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed on Howe Hall Road near Goose Creek on Christmas.

According to Coroner Darnell Hartwell, the victim is Danubia Gisselia Sevilla, 33, of Goose Creek. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said Sevilla and a child were standing beside a disabled vehicle in a ditch when they were both struck by it around 6:50 p.m.

It’s unclear why the Chevy truck was in a ditch and what ultimately led up to the collision.

Berkeley County EMS, the Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office and Goose Creek Fire & Rescue responded to the fatality.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
