MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified a pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle over the weekend.
The victim has been identified as Jun Ji Weng, 49, of Moncks Corner.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell said the collision occurred Saturday just before 10 p.m. on North Hwy. 52 in Moncks Corner.
Authorities said Weng was attempting to cross the street when she was fatally struck by a car.
Moncks Corner Fire & Rescue, Berkeley County EMS, and the Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office responded to the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
