🚒 What is the ‘Fire Safe SC’ Community Designation?
The Fire Safe SC Communities program aims to reduce fire-related injuries and improve safety awareness across South Carolina. To earn the designation, departments must:
- Improve fire incident data reporting
- Train local partners to conduct in-home fire safety visits
- Complete advanced courses in risk reduction via the National Fire Academy
“These fire departments consistently exceed expectations in preparing the public for emergencies,” said Cole C. Shirley, Fire Services Coordinator with Berkeley County Emergency Management. “We’re proud to work with such dedicated professionals who put community safety first.”
