ICE Hold After NC Arrest in Goose Creek Fatal Stabbing

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County deputies have arrested a man in connection with a deadly stabbing that happened over the weekend in Goose Creek.

Deputies say 25-year-old Miguel Henrique Santos de Oliviera was taken into custody in North Carolina and is now facing charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held on a $2 million bond, and authorities say he’s also on an ICE detainer.

The incident happened early Sunday morning, May 25, on Harbor Lake Drive. Deputies say they responded to a call just after 6 a.m. and found 21-year-old Lucas Mortins of Summerville with a stab wound to the chest.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Miguel Santos de Oliviera is being held on a two-million-dollar bond. He is currently being held on an ICE detainer as well. (CREDIT: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement/FILE)

Mortins was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
