Michael Parker to Run for Berkeley County Council District 7 Seat

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — Michael Parker has announced his candidacy for the District 7 seat on Berkeley County Council.

Parker, a lifelong resident of the county, said he will seek the Republican nomination in the June 2026 primary.

He owns and operates Hickory Bluff Berry Farm and has worked in the hotel, construction, and natural resources industries. He also has a history of community involvement through local business and volunteer efforts.

In his campaign announcement, Parker said his priorities include infrastructure improvements, economic growth, and enhanced public services for District 7 residents.

“I’m running for Berkeley County Council because I believe in the potential of our community,” Parker said in a statement. “District 7 deserves a representative who listens to its residents, prioritizes smart growth, and ensures every voice is heard.”

The District 7 seat will be on the ballot during the 2026 Republican primary. Caldwell Pinckney, Jr. has been representing District 7 since 2000.
