MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Performance Fast Lube, a longtime fixture in Moncks Corner’s automotive scene, is now under new ownership. Ron and Jodi Gathercole have officially taken the reins from founders Fred and Marlene Hall, continuing a legacy of fast, honest service that began in 1996.
The Gathercoles bring a combined background in hands-on automotive work and business operations, and they’re committed to keeping the shop’s reputation strong while expanding its offerings. “We knew Performance Fast Lube had a strong reputation, and when the longtime owners were ready to retire, we saw the perfect chance to continue their trusted local legacy,” said Ron Gathercole.
Originally from Texas, the couple relocated to Moncks Corner with a clear vision: to invest in a growing community and build a business rooted in local values.

“Our motto is ‘Our Community, Your Car, Driven Together,’ and it’s how we run our shop,” said Jodi Gathercole.
According to the new owners, customers can expect new services—including brakes, alignments, and tires—alongside the same dependable oil changes the shop is known for. A new website and rewards program are also part of the upgrade.
“Our customers asked for more, and we listened,” said Ron. “But our promise of fast, honest oil changes stays the same.”
The Gathercoles said they are keeping the existing team in place and plan to invest in their growth.
“They’re the heart of the shop,” Jodi emphasized.
As national chains expand, the couple sees their local presence as a key differentiator.
“We’re local. Our customers see the owners right here in the shop. That personal connection and community investment set us apart,” said Ron.
Looking ahead, the Gathercoles aim to become a trusted car care hub for Moncks Corner, Goose Creek, and Summerville.
“We’re more than an oil change shop—we’re creating a place where drivers know they’ll be cared for like neighbors,” said Jodi.
Fred Hall, who founded the shop nearly three decades ago, expressed confidence in the transition. “It has been an honor to serve this community, and we’re grateful to the customers who have trusted us since the beginning. We’re confident Ron and Jodi will carry on that tradition.”
The sale was brokered by Chris Perez of Sunbelt Network in Charleston, SC, specialists in small business and automotive service transactions.

Located at 1014 Old Hwy 52 in Moncks Corner, Performance Fast Lube has served the community since 1996 with efficient, affordable auto care. Under new ownership as of September 2, 2025, the business continues its tradition of integrity while evolving to meet the needs of today’s drivers.
