BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – As the New Year begins, women from across Berkeley County and the greater Lowcountry are being invited to pause, reflect and reconnect at a faith-centered gathering set for Saturday, Jan. 17.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Family Life Worship Center, located at 2346 N. Hwy. 17A in Bonneau.

Known as Chรขyรขh (pronounced khaw-yaw), the gathering takes its name from a Hebrew word meaning โ€œrestore to life.โ€ Organizers say the event is designed to help women awaken their faith, revitalize their spirits and step confidently into Godโ€™s purpose at the start of a new year.

This yearโ€™s program centers on the theme โ€œKingdom Culture โ€“ What Is It?โ€ and will explore how aligning daily life with kingdom-minded principles can foster clarity, unity and spiritual wholeness. Attendees can expect teaching, live worship music, food and fellowship in what organizers describe as a welcoming, community-focused environment.

โ€œGoing into a new year, many women are reflecting on where they are in their faith and where God is calling them next,โ€ said Kristina Wrenn, a Berkeley County resident and Nashville recording artist who will lead worship during the event. โ€œThis is a season of reset and renewal, and this gathering creates space for women to be refreshed and refocused spiritually.โ€

The event will also feature Susie Walther, founder and president of The Well Training and Discipleship Ministry, as the special guest speaker. Walther has spent more than 30 years discipling women and building interdenominational communities across the United States and abroad.

โ€œAny opportunity to mature in our faith is timely,โ€ Walther said. โ€œBut gathering with believers outside of our own church communities is especially important in a divided world. Events like this allow us to actively live out the unity we talk about.โ€

This year marks the second time the event has been held in Berkeley County. Organizers say the decision to bring Chรขyรขh back followed the strong response to last yearโ€™s gathering.

โ€œLast year, we saw women come hungry for more of God and leave encouraged and strengthened,โ€ Wrenn said. โ€œBecause of that response, we wanted to do this again in hopes that even more women will grow in their faith and step boldly into what God has for them.โ€

Walther said her hope is that attendees leave renewed and empowered.

โ€œOur lives are meant to reflect the Kingdom of God,โ€ she said. โ€œMy prayer is that women leave renewed, empowered and ready to live out their faith with purpose.โ€

The event is interdenominational, intergenerational and multicultural, with women from all denominations welcome. A $35 donation per person is requested, with an option to sponsor a table of six for $225, which includes special sponsor perks.
