GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Shoppers in Goose Creek are getting their first look inside a newly remodeled Walmart Neighborhood Market, as the store officially reopened following a renovation aimed at improving convenience and the overall customer experience.

The updated Neighborhood Market, located at 1635 Red Bank Road, reopened Monday morning after the completion of a long-anticipated transformation. The project is part of Walmartโ€™s broader effort to blend in-store and online shopping options while saving customers time and money.

Store associates marked the reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a community celebration that drew local leaders and organizations. Among those attending were representatives from the City of Goose Creek, the Goose Creek Police and Fire Departments, the Bands of Hanahan Booster Club, Holy City Treks, and Berkeley County Councilman Dan Owens.

“At Walmart, a top priority for us is always improving our customersโ€™ shopping experience, said Katie Chamberlain, Walmart store manager. โ€œWeโ€™re proud to present our customers with a number of new features and improvements at our store that will ultimately allow us to better serve the Goose Creek community. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated associates and our store leadership teams for their outstanding efforts throughout the renovation.โ€

Walmart Neighborhood Markets are smaller than traditional Supercenters but are designed to function as full-service grocery stores. Customers can shop for fresh produce, meat, dairy items, bakery and deli foods, pantry staples, household goods, health and beauty products, pet supplies, and prescription services through an in-store pharmacy.

The Goose Creek location received a series of upgrades intended to modernize the store and improve flow for shoppers. Renovations include new paint, updated fixtures, improved signage, and energy-efficient LED lighting to create a brighter and more welcoming environment. The deli area was expanded to include a larger full-service counter and a hot bar offering ready-to-eat meals.

Additional changes include wider aisles and a reconfigured store layout to make shopping easier, along with enhancements to online grocery pickup and delivery services to accommodate growing demand. The pharmacy was also updated with a new private consultation room and expanded delivery options for prescriptions.

As part of the reopening, store leaders and associates also distributed $1,500 in community grants to local organizations. The City of Goose Creek, the Bands of Hanahan Booster Club, and Holy City Treks each received $500 to support their ongoing work in the community.

Walmart officials say the remodeled store reflects the companyโ€™s continued investment in local neighborhoods by combining grocery convenience with expanded services and community support.
