GOOSE CREEK, S.C. โ Goose Creek City Council welcomed three new members Tuesday during a swearing-in ceremony at City Hall, marking the start of a new four-year term for Melissa Enos-Sims, Corey McClary, and Gayla McSwain.
The ceremony took place ahead of the first council meeting of 2026, where members unanimously selected Councilmember Jerry Tekac to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. Tekac previously held the role from 2020 to 2022.

Enos-Sims was sworn in by Rep. Brandon Cox, a former Goose Creek councilmember now serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives. McClary was sworn in by Mayor Greg Habib, and McSwain by City Clerk Kelly Lovette.

The new councilmembers will serve through January 2030. The remaining three council seats and the mayorโs office are scheduled for election in fall 2027.

Goose Creek City Council meets monthly at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday.
