MONCKS CORNER, S.C. โ A 31-year-old Hanahan man is facing criminal charges after deputies say he assaulted law enforcement officers while resisting arrest during a vandalism call in Summerville.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriffโs Office, Aaron Grant Kimball was taken into custody following an incident on Poinsetta Avenue on January 14. Deputies were responding to a reported act of vandalism when they encountered Kimball standing outside a vehicle.
Authorities say Kimball was uncooperative and resisted a lawful pat-down for weapons. Despite repeated verbal commands, he allegedly attempted to pull away from deputies and continued to resist detention.

As officers worked to place him in handcuffs, Kimball is accused of biting one deputy on the wrist and another on the hand. Deputies eventually gained control of the situation and took him into custody.

Kimball was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center and is charged with assault on law enforcement while resisting arrest.
The Berkeley County Sheriffโs Office says the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
