ST. STEPHEN, S.C. — One of Berkeley County’s most anticipated spring traditions is set to return next month as the St. Stephen Catfish Festival brings a weekend full of food, music and family-friendly entertainment.
The annual festival will take place March 27–29 at 113 Ravenell Drive, offering three days of activities designed for all ages — from carnival rides and live performances to a catfish cookoff and Easter-themed events.
Festivities kick off Friday, March 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rides opening at 5 p.m. and a performance by the Young Thunder Dance Krewe. Attendees can also take part in free bingo with cash prizes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 28, marks the busiest day of the festival, running from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The day begins with a catfish cookoff at 9 a.m., followed by rides, a cake walk and live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Highlights include a performance by David Brown, a free egg drop featuring more than 10,000 eggs and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Organizers will also award prizes for the biggest catfish before judging begins for the catfish stew competition.
Festivalgoers can sample the stew beginning at 5:15 p.m., with organizers offering all-you-can-eat servings for $5 per cup. The evening wraps up with a performance by the Nu Attitude Band.
The festival concludes Sunday, March 29, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with more rides, music and family activities. Performances are scheduled throughout the afternoon, including Dee Dee Cumbee and the Ram Steppers.

Organizers say the Catfish Festival continues to be a celebration of community, bringing together residents and visitors alike for a weekend of local flavor and entertainment.
With a mix of food, music and activities for kids and adults, the event is expected to draw large crowds once again to St. Stephen.
