MONCKS CORNER, S.C. โ The Moncks Corner Fire Department has received a $37,727.40 grant aimed at strengthening its emergency response capabilities, town officials recently announced.
The funding, awarded by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, was used to purchase new battery-powered extrication equipment โ tools commonly used by first responders to rescue individuals trapped in vehicles during serious crashes.

Fire officials say the upgraded equipment will allow crews to respond more efficiently and safely in critical situations, particularly when quick access to victims can mean the difference between life and death.
โThis equipment helps ensure our department is better equipped to serve the Town of Moncks Corner,โ town officials said via social media, expressing gratitude for the support.

The department also thanked the local Firehouse Subs restaurant in Moncks Corner, along with donors whose contributions helped make the grant possible.
Over the past two decades, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has supported thousands of grants for vital equipment for first responders โ ranging from lifesaving tools such as rescue boats and extrication equipment to critical protective gear, including bunker gear and ballistic vests. Officials say this equipment has directly saved hundreds of lives and strengthened communities across the country.
