MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County Supervisor-Elect Bill Peagler announced the leadership team for his new administration on Tuesday.
“I am proud to have assembled a team of top-level talent committed to my vision for our county – improving Berkeley’s economy, improving our residents’ trust in government, and improving the quality of life for our citizens,” said Peagler. “I am grateful for their commitment to serve our county and look forward to working with them next year.”
Marc Hehn, who has served as Moncks Corner Town Administrator under Peagler for the last seven years, will serve as the County’s Deputy Supervisor for General Services. Hehn previously directed Berkeley County’s Water and Sanitation Authority for twenty years and led Dorchester County as County Administrator. A past Chairman of the Berkeley County GIS Consortium, Hehn is a recipient of the National Association of Counties’ Achievement Award and the Berkeley County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Conservation Award.
Barry Jurs, the Economic Development Facilities Planner for Santee Cooper, will lead the county’s economic development efforts. Jurs has experience working with all of South Carolina’s 46 counties, the SC Department of Commerce, the SC State Ports Authority, regional alliances and existing industries to promote job growth.
Jurs is a member of the SC Economic Developers Association and the International Economic Development Council, and he serves as the Executive Director of the Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust and the Vice-Chairman of the Berkeley Soil and Water Conservation District.
Former Ninth Circuit Assistant Solicitor John O. Williams will serve as County Attorney. A Moncks Corner native, Williams was a law clerk for the Honorable R. Markley Dennis, Jr. and is presently in private practice with Williams & Hulst.
Peagler, currently mayor of Moncks Corner, was elected the county’s newest supervisor in July.
