BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—A second auction is scheduled for August 27th to get rid of the remaining assets belonging to the now defunct American LaFrance.
When the company abruptly closed for business earlier this year, it left the county with a massive tax bill in the amount of $650,000.
An auction held in June was able to recover much of the money back.
This latest auction will take place at the Embassy Suites Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston at 9 a.m.
The Brandford Group will oversee the auction. For those who cannot attend the event, people will also be able to bid online.
Some of the items up for bid include: diesel engines, fire pumps, axles, pumper bodies, cabs, water tanks, brakes and much more.
According to The Brandford Group’s website, “Due to the tremendous quantity of parts being offered, we anticipate over 1200 Lots! A second day of bidding may be necessary immediately following on Thursday August 28th.”
