Berkeley County folks clearly have a sense of humor when it comes to naming roads. Below are just a few of the street signs we recently came across in our travels across the biggest county in the Palmetto State. Some of them will make you laugh, shake your head or both. Enjoy 🙂
1. We’re not sure what kind of farm animals live down here, but we certainly didn’t want to find out. (St. Stephen)
2. We didn’t dare venture down this road for obvious reasons. (St. Stephen)
3. This road just made us hungry. (Macedonia)
4. This one made us even hungrier. (Cordesville)
5. It just wouldn’t be Berkeley County if at least one street wasn’t named after a “Bubba.” (Cross)
6. …or a hillbilly (Macedonia)
7. The people who live down here aren’t going anywhere any time soon. (Moncks Corner)
8. Hmmm…no comment. (Cross)
9. This street sign was located very close to Hooters Lane. We sense a theme here…an adult-rated one. (Cross)
10. Either a God-awful smell or music was the inspiration for this street sign. We hope it was the music. (St. Stephen)
11. Either someone liked guns or that old cowboy show when this road was named. But, heck, it’s Berkeley County, so both were probably inspirations for giving this road a name. (Macedonia)
12. We don’t care if a happy gator does live down here. They bite! (Cross)
13. Whether it’s soft or hard, no pinch is good. They hurt! (Cordesville)
14. We don’t like bumpy roads, so we didn’t dare venture down Lumpy Way. (Cross)
15. Someone clearly has a thing for cars. (Cross)
