GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday, officers were dispatched to 330 Annette Dr. in the Boulder Bluff subdivision in reference to a 911 caller reporting that a man had shot himself at that location, according to Goose Creek Police.

Once on scene, Captain John Grainger with the Goose Creek Police Department says officers heard what was believed to be a gunshot from within the home.

Shortly after, the resident, 55-year-old Cheryl Williams came to the front porch and was taken to an adjacent home for safety.

Grainger says after entering the home, officers discovered Williams’ husband, 85-year-old Loyde Williams, lying on a bedroom floor with a bleeding chest wound.

A pistol was found on the bed in the same room. Medical personnel tended to Williams’ and determined that he was deceased.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office was notifed and responded.

The subsequent investigation led investigators to place Williams under arrest on the charge of murder.

After her arrest, Williams was transported to Trident Medical Center for medical evaluation and after clearance was lodged at the Berkeley County Detention Center.

Williams is scheduled for a bond hearing in Goose Creek Municipal Court at 2:00 p.m. today.

Grainger stated that there is no history in this agency’s records of domestic discord at the incident location or between these parties.

  1. That monster killed our Dad in COLD BLOOD. She fooled all of us, making
us believe she loved him, she is a cold stone liar! Dad has 3 daughters who love
him, 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons who have been robbed of
precious time they could have shared with him. LOYDE L WILLIAMS was a
good man and a good husband, making sure his wife got every opportunity
to get good medical treatment for physical ailments, a good home and he
did the cooking for her, most of the housework, the yard work, grocery shopping. Why did she kill him? she gave no reason and spoke with the judge as if she were giving dictation. We are heartbroken beyond words.
