DAR Open House Oct. 10th Celebrating 125 Years God, Home & Country!

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Daughters of the American Revolution is celebrating its 125th birthday! Come to the Open House Celebration sponsored by General Marion’s Brigade Chapter at the Santee Cooper Auditorium on Saturday Oct. 10th at 10 AM.

Researchers can look up your Patriot ancestor who served in the American Revolution.

Any woman over the age of 18, who is a lineal descendant of a Patriot, is eligible to join the DAR.

The Daughters of the American Revolution was formed on October 11, 1890. Four women came together, two from the North and two from the South, to form a patriotic, service organization.

Since then, almost one million women have joined after proving their ancestral connection to a man or woman who contributed to the cause of American Independence from British rule.

The DAR is a service organization that preserves history, promotes education and encourages patriotism.
