November Proclaimed ‘Hospice Palliative Care Month’ in Goose Creek

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler has proclaimed November 2015 as National Hospice Palliative Care Month in the city.

Mayor Heitzler signed a proclamation on Nov. 17 at the Municipal Center.

He was joined by Nicole Yanzetich, a Hospice Care of South Carolina Community Relations Liaison, and Pam Thomas, a Registered Nurse.

Every year more than 1.5 million Americans receive care from the nation’s hospice programs.

More than 400,000 trained volunteers contribute 19 million hours of service to hospice programs each year in the U.S.

The proclamation encourages residents to learn more about the options that hospice and palliative care providers provide. For more information, visit www.hospicecare.net.
