Santee Cooper Begins Controlled Spill at Santee Dam

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Due to current lake levels, Santee Cooper began spilling operations at the Santee Dam.

The controlled spill began Thursday at 5,000 cubic feet of water per second into the Santee River.

Spilling, which is a normal part of Santee Cooper’s hydroelectric operations in periods of increased flows into the lakes, is expected to continue until further notice. Information is updated each business day on the lakes information line, 1-800-92LAKES.
