BCSO: Woman Runs From Officers, Bites And Strikes Deputy

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Just after 1 a.m. on Friday, a deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a white Ford sedan in the area of Old Back River Road and Princeton Road in unincorporated Goose Creek for not having any rear lights operational, authorities stated.

Deputies say the vehicle stopped and a black male subject fled on foot shortly before the vehicle sped off. A brief pursuit ensued until the vehicle finally stopped in front of 5 Rumson Road.

The female driver, later identified as 32-year-old Casi Nicole Shylock exited the vehicle and fled on foot, authorities stated.

The deputy chased her down and attempted take her into custody. The female struck the deputy in the face and began to scratch her and bite her on the arm several times, authorities stated.

When backup deputies arrived, Shylock was taken into custody. After Shylock was taken into custody it was learned that she was wanted by the SCHP and SC Probation & Parole.

She was also determined to be a Habitual Traffic Offender. She was taken to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

Authorities say the female deputy received injuries during the altercation with Shylock. The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.
