Warming Shelters Open in Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–With freezing temperatures expected this week, Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness Department has announced warming shelter locations.

  • Fresh Anointing Ministries, located at 551 Myers Road in Summerville, will serve as a warming center Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
  • Goose Creek UMC, located at 142 Redbank Road in Goose Creek, will serve as a warming center Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Ridge Baptist Church of Summerville will also serve as a warming center Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
  • Ridge Baptist Church of Summerville will serve as a warming center Thursday, January 4, 2018, and Friday, January 5, 2018.

All warming center locations will be open from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. and will provide hot meals for dinner, beds for the evening and breakfast in the morning.

Should the public have any questions during regular business hours about the warming centers, they are asked to call the Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness Department at 843-719-4166.
