Berkeley County Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicles, Equipment and Firearm

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Two people are behind bars in Berkeley County after deputies say they recently stole several vehicles, equipment and a firearm.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for a stolen Ford F-250 for the past week and located it Friday with the assistance of some tips from the community.

Deputies responded to 1104 Whitehouse Road in rural Berkeley County, off of State Road and located the F-250 next to the house.

The F-250 was on top of a heavy equipment trailer that was also found to be stolen, the stolen truck and trailer were being pulled by a heavy truck that was also reported stolen.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the address and, upon executing the search warrant a stolen 9mm pistol stolen out of Walterboro was located. Behind the house was a bobcat earth mover that had a punched ignition and its origin are still being investigated. Additional arrests are expected.

Arrested on scene were Jeffrey Dale Strickland, 40, and Cindy Marie Aune, 37 – both reside at the incident location. Both were transported to the Hill Finklea Detention Center pending warrant service and a bond hearing.

“A special thanks go out to the citizens who gave us tips on this case, working together we can clean up Berkeley County,” Sheriff Duane Lewis stated.
