Glenn McConnell named the 22nd president of the College of Charleston

The College of Charleston Board of Trustees today voted to offer Glenn McConnell the position of 22nd president of the College of Charleston.

Lt. Gov. McConnell, a 1969 graduate of the College of Charleston, will be formally introduced to the campus and the community upon successful conclusion of a contract.

“We believe that Glenn McConnell is the best person to lead the College of Charleston, and we expect to quickly conclude the contract negotiations and formally introduce Lt. Gov. McConnell to the campus and the community,” says Greg Padgett ’79, chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Presidential Search Committee. “I want to thank the members of the Board, the members of the Presidential Search Committee and the entire College of Charleston community for their thoughtful input into the selection of the next president.”
