Jamestown man killed in collision, four others injured

JAMESTOWN, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner, Bill Salisbury, around 6:30 p.m. Saturday a pickup truck and a SUV were traveling on French Santee Road near Jamestown when the two vehicles collided.

Salisbury says the front seat passenger in the truck, James Shuler, 67, of Jamestown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other were transported to local hospitals from the accident.

The coroner says Shuler died from blunt force body trauma and was not wearing a seatbelt.

His death has been ruled accidental.

The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
