The South Carolina House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday that will allow the use and possession of 
CBD oil, to help those in the state with severe cases of epilepsy.
CBD oil is a component found in cannabis, but does not allow the user to get high, but instead will help those who suffer from epilepsy. Berkeley County senator, Larry Grooms, who supports the bill, recently said that, while he does not support the legalization of recreational use of marijuana, he will consider laws allowing medical use of marijuana.
“If there was a demonstrated medical use, I would look into the body of evidence and consider the benefits,” said Grooms.
The bill passed 90-24 in the house, and has been sent to the senate, where it has been refereed to the Committee of Medical Affairs.
