Win money for naming upcoming Moncks Corner festival

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. –In several months, the Town of Moncks Corner will be hosting the 1st Inaugural Town Festival and BBQ “Cooker of the Year” competition. This two day event will take place at the New Regional Recreation Complex on Friday November 7 & Saturday November 8th, 2014.

There is a slight problem, sort of. The festival doesn’t have a name. That’s where, you, at home come in. Event organizers are inviting the community to participate in the “Name the Festival Challenge.” Organizers say

they are looking for a creative name that represents Moncks Corner/Berkeley County.

The event will also include the top 12 BBQ cookers in the Southern Barbeque Network who qualify for this special invite only competition. There will also be entertainment, vendors, Battle of the Banks “chili cook-off”, Custom Golf Cart Show, children’s area, and much more.

To take part in the naming competition, simply submit your entry by May 30th and include your name, phone and e-mail along with the suggested “festival name.” E-mail it to: [email protected].

The festival name winner that is chosen will be awarded a prize of either a $100 savings bond for a child or $100 check for an adult.
