NJ fugitive arrested at Hanahan apartment complex following standoff

HANAHAN, S.C.—According to Lt. Michael Fowler with the Hanahan Police Department, shortly before 1 p.m. the U.S. Marshal requested the agency’s assistance with the arrest of a suspect wanted in New Jersey.

The SWAT team was also called into assist.

Fowler says the wanted man was located at the Lakewood Lodge Apartments on 6000 Mabeline Road Monday afternoon. Fowler says he gave himself up to authorities shortly after 4 p.m.

So far, the suspect’s name has not been released. However, Fowler says the suspect was wanted for a violent assault and possibly a few other charges.

Fowler says he did not know if the suspect had any connections to anyone living at that apartment.
