Two People killed in early morning collision on I-26

car crashBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, 26-year-old Anthony Pascucci of New York was traveling on I-26 eastbound in the westbound lane near mile marker 188 when he struck another vehicle head-on shortly before 3 a.m. Friday.

Salisbury says the driver of that vehicle was 43-year-old Tonya Carson of North Carolina.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner says Carson’s vehicle caught fire and burned.

Salisbury says both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
