This notification is for February 2015. The left lanes on I-26 Eastbound and Westbound will be closed between mile posts 193 and 198 as follows.
Eastbound: Mondays through Wednesdays 4am to 2pm, Thursdays 4am to 1pm, Fridays 4am to 11am and Saturdays 4am to 10am. Westbound: Mondays through Wednesdays 4am to 2pm, Thursdays 4am to 1pm and Fridays & Saturdays 4am to 9am. The lane closures are to allow contractors to prepare the median for the installation of median cable barrier. Also median shoulder closures will be in place 24 hours a day.
One lane will remain open at all times during the closures. The traveling public is encouraged to take alternate routes if possible.
Drivers are encouraged to download and use the SCDOT 511 App for smartphones for traffic information. Drivers traveling near the project’s construction zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working in the area at all times. Drivers are also asked to notice and comply with traffic control signs, reductions in speed limits, and message board information. Please note that all road work is dependent on the weather.
If additional lane closures (nighttime) are required to stay on schedule, an updated notification will be distributed ASAP.
